We’re making the most of Slightly Spooky Saturday at Navy Pier with a full day of tricks and treats for guests of all ages! Stop by Scary Caray’s Tavern to enjoy Oktoberfest favorites, support PAWS Chicago, and take part in festive face painting and fun contests throughout the day.

Kick off the festivities with free Halloween face painting for kids (and kids at heart). From spooky spiders to friendly pumpkins, our artist will transform guests into their favorite Halloween characters—perfect for showing off all day at Navy Pier.

Face Painting will be done on a first come, first serve basis.

All pets participating in the costume contest are required to register on Eventbrite. Registration is $10 per pet and all proceeds from this entry fee will go directly to PAWS Chicago. Owners escorting their pets on stage and spectators—both human and pet—can attend for free!

Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive no later than 3:45pm. The Check-in Table will be located at the patio entrance of Harry Caray's Tavern. Late registration will be available during the Check-In period if space allows.

Do owners need to purchase a ticket if they will be doing an ensemble costume with their pet?

If I have more than one pet competing do I need to register them seperately?
​Yes. Each pet that is participating needs to register and pay the $10 entry fee.
Where do I check-in the day of the contest, and how early can I come?​
The check-in table will  be near the patio entrance at Harry Caray's Tavern. Contestants may begin checking in as early as 3:15pm and are strongly encouraged to arrive no later than 3:45pm. Guest are more than welcome to arrive early to eat and hangout on the patio with their pet beforehand.
​Is this a "Rain or Shine" Event?
​Unfortunately since we cannot allow animals inside of the restaurant, this event will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. If the event is canceled, we will notify all participant via email.
if i can no longer make it, can i get a refund?
​This is an event for charity with all profits going directly to PAWS Chicago. With that in mind, we are not permitting refunds for cancelations or no-shows. Thank you in advance for understanding this decision and for supporting this wonderful cause.
Are costumes allowed if I am not participating?
​Of course! We welcome all participants and spectators—both human and pet—to dress for the occasion and show off their Halloween spirit.

Put your Bavarian strength to the test and participate in our traditional stein hoisting competition.
​
The strength and stamina contest involves participants holding a full, one-liter Sam Adams stein with a straight arm parallel to the ground for as long as possible, without spilling. The winner will receive a special prize from Sam Adams.
