Say Farewell to Santa with a Magical evening!Say farewell to Santa as we give him a grand send-off back to the North Pole just in time for Christmas Eve! Join us Saturday, December 23rd for a magical evening at the Lakefront Lodge at Harry Caray's Tavern on Navy Pier. The whole family will enjoy holiday-inspired dinner specials while getting their photo taken with Santa. With live music and entertainment from 6:30pm to 9pm, Chicago local and musician Steve Lydell will have you and your children singing and dancing to holiday classics.
After dinner, join Santa as he makes his way through the tunnel of lights from Navy Pier's Light Up the Lake Festival and along the Pier’s south dock for his grand departure aboard the festively decorated Shoreline II operated by Shoreline Sightseeing. Then wave goodbye as he takes off beneath the majestic and nationally-award winning Navy Pier Fireworks Show to embark on a 4,622 nautical mile journey back home to the North Pole in time for Christmas Eve.

Reservations require a $10 per person deposit which will be applied to your check on the day of the event. Please be advised that an automatic 20% gratuity charge will be applied to your final bill as well. You may cancel up to 5 days in advance for a full refund. Deposits will be retained for cancellations made after that time.

Beginning in November, the atrium and patio at Harry Caray's Tavern on Navy Pier is transforming into Lakefront Lodge – a festive winter lodge overlooking the city and mesmerizing icy Lake Michigan. Complete with a fireplace, leather seating, and cozy rustic touches throughout, Lakefront Lodge is the perfect venue for private parties and group gatherings looking for a relaxing but interactive experience. Guests are invited to stay warm inside sipping on specialty beverages & enjoying tasty bites or grab a blanket to bundle up and have some fun on the patio featuring a private curling rink, heated igloo, and firepits.
Lakefront Lodge opens its doors November 2023 and will be warmly welcoming guests and private events all winter long through February 2024. Lakefront Lodge is available to book for private events and holiday parties. Standard rental includes the lodge space located in the atrium of Harry Caray’s Tavern along with a private curling rink, heated igloo, and firepit on the patio. The lodge can accommodate groups of up to 30 guests. For larger groups, a full buyout of the restaurant is available and can accommodate parties of up to 300 guests. A private Whiskey Tasting Experience can be added for an additional fee.

Steve began his entertainment career over 50 years ago. Born in Sidney (Ohio, not Australia), Steve moved to Tucson, AZ at 12 years old where he went to school with Linda Ronstadt. He has released records, played in Europe, and has opened for The Who, Johnny Cash, Blue Cheer, Chris Montez, and more. For the past 14 years he has sung Rock n' Roll, Blues, and Country music throughout the Midwest while impersonating Waylon Jennings, Buddy Holly, Bobby Vee, Gene Pitney, Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra, and Jay & The Americans among others.
