Harry Caray's Restaurant Group
Since 1987, Harry Caray's Restaurant Group (HCRG), led by Grant DePorter
, has proven to be one of Chicago's most dynamic and successful restaurant management companies. The enterprise currently operates six restaurants, an off-premise catering company and is opening a 22,000 square foot restaurant event venue at Water Tower Place in 2014.
HCRG opened its first restaurant, Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse in Chicago’s River North neighborhood in 1987. The restaurant has since become a Chicago legend, and now offers additional locations in Rosemont and Lombard. Also located in Lombard, adjacent to Harry Caray’s, is Holy Mackerel!, HCRG’s fresh seafood concept. HCRG then opened Harry Caray’s Tavern, a more casual version of the original Harry Caray’s, at Navy Pier in March 2010. Additionally, HCRG worked with the Chicago Cubs to develop and execute the Captain Morgan Club at Wrigley Field. HCRG also operates Harry Caray's Seventh Inning Stretch, Midway Airport’s flagship restaurant. In addition, HCRG’s off-premise catering company, Harry Caray’s Catering & Events, caters many of Chicagoland's premier landmarks including the Harold Washington Library, Garfield Park Conservatory and Museum of Broadcast Communications.
Named as one of the Top 75 Multiconcept Leaders in the Country by Restaurants and Institutions Magazine, HCRG continues to expand its ventures. Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse has received numerous accolades throughout its 26 year history including "Best Steakhouse" by the Chicago Tribune's Dining Poll, Wine Spectator's prestigious "Award of Excellence" and is ranked continuously in the top 100 grossing independent restaurants in America.
