Created by the famed designers of New York’s Central Park, Frederick Law Olmted and Calvert Vaux, Jackson Park plays host to this jewel that sits on Chicago’s South Lakefront. Located directly on the sands of Lake Michigan this open-air facility features grand porticos overlooking the bluest of waters. Choose the covered Promenade with sun-drenched balconies on the second floor or either of the majestic courtyards on the ground level. This south side gem has played host to formal dining affairs, community events and family functions.


1820 North Wells Building, Chicago

A New Leaf is a uniquely warm urban venue that is attached to a floral design shop in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The venue can accommodate up to 175 guests and incorporates four indoor spaces, including the Apartment, the Mezzanine, the Store Front and the Black Table Room.

Trying to think outside the box for the setting of your upcoming event? Your answer is on the water. Anita Dee offers Chicago charters that will make any occasion an elegant and unforgettable affair. Each yacht is one of a kind in style and design, and so too, will be your experience. Choose from one of two magnificent vessels: The Anita Dee I is well suited for both intimate and well-numbered engagements and the Anita Dee II caters to groups of up to 400 people. Both are of superb class for cruises in Chicago.

Originally named the Downey Mansion, this historic landmark is one of the few remaining mansions that once lined Chicago’s Lakefront. This quaint mansion features hardwood floors, original woodwork and antique light fixtures among other charming details. The mansion also boasts an outdoor space with breathtaking lake views. Located just minutes from downtown, this unique space offers three rooms that can be rented individually for intimate gatherings or together for functions that can accommodate up to 100 guests.

A charming space with stunning views, the Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum is the perfect venue for an intimate reception of up to 30 guests. The Bridgehouse is a distinguished site made up of five floors, each capturing a critical moment in the history of the Chicago River.

As one of the largest fountains in the world, this Chicago icon is sure to dazzle your guests. You can choose between the city skyline and Lake Michigan as backdrops. 337 E Randolph, Chicago

Here’s a true hidden treasure in the heart of the city and close to the lake on East Randolph Street. The gardens are gorgeous, and the view of Lake Michigan and the Field Museum of Natural History to the south is spectacular. On the north end, two forty-foot tall granite columns flank a large open metal pavilion. Flowers spill out of pedestals that line the garden. There are smells and sights to delight the senses and a long tent capable corridor of greenery to remind us to appreciate life in full bloom. The Catalyst Ranch is a fun place to hold an event day or night. Decorated with bundant color, light and vintage furniture guests can meet and congregate in one of Chicago’s most unique spaces. Catalyst Ranch has two floors and can accommodate parties of up to 200 on its main floor and 120 on the upper floor.

The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1904 and has continued to make Chicagoland the most business-friendly region in the country. Located on the 28th floor, featuring a gorgeous view of the city, are two rooms perfect for a board meeting for twelve or a seminar for 100.

The Columbus Park Refectory boasts three porticos that fill with sun during the summer. The grounds, created by the dean of prairie landscape architecture, contain two natural looking waterfalls, stratified stonework ledges and abundant native plant life. You and your guests will enjoy the serene country club setting with the chance to dine in a Chicago landmark. Inside, Spanish-influenced architecture, arched entryways and ornate terra cotta await. The generous-sized Dance Hall with its magnificent windows overlooks the stunning lagoon and comes complete with a grand piano. It may sound like heaven, but it’s closer than that and includes a nine-hole golf course plus convenient free parking right outside!

Located in the historic district of Oak Park, the Cheney Mansion offers two acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, providing a gracious backdrop for outdoor weddings, corporate events and private parties. With its large, airy rooms, it is reminiscent of a gracious English country home. The Mansion and its surrounding grounds can accommodate parties of up to 80 guests for a morning function, 150 for a sit-down dinner and up to 250 for buffet service. A tent may be used on the grounds for groups up to 350.

The Chicago Public Library’s Harold Washington Library Center is the largest municipal library building in the world. Its Winter Garden, the architectural centerpiece of the library, is located on the 9th floor and features a marble atrium with a stunning glass sky dome. The Grand Lobby is a three-story rotunda available for receptions and the Auditorium is a 385-seat theatre ideal for meetings, dances or concerts.


10 East Randolph Street, Chicago

Joffrey Ballet Chicago rents its rehearsal studios, complete with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and barres, for weddings and other events. Rentals contribute about $200,000 a year to the ballet’s $14-million annual budget, says Christopher Clinton Conway, executive director. The seven studios have wooden floors “with a little bit of spring to them, which is fun,” Mr. Conway says; mirrors can be left exposed or covered with drapes.

The Lillstreet Art Center is the Midwest’s largest ceramic facility, housing classrooms, artists’ studios, a gallery space and café. The three story building is filled with natural light and showcases the talent of local and national artists. The main lobby area can comfortably seat 60 guests and accommodate a reception for 200 people.

Mars Gallery is located in the West Loop in a turn-of-the-century warehouse loft and specializes in contemporary pop art and outsider artwork. Millennium Park is much more than just a park. Event venues are located throughout the park, from the stage of the Pritzker Pavilion to Wrigley Square and the Millennium Monument. 5491 S Lake Shore Dr, Chicago

Come and see what the renowned designer Daniel Burnham envisioned when he created the plans for Promontory Point. In 1933-1934 this site was home to Chicago’s second World’s Fair. This quaint building provides crystal clear skyline views and is surrounded by heavenly meadows. The magnificent French doors open onto stone verandas just steps from Lake Michigan. The exposed brick interior along with the historic architecture make this cozy castle-like site a must see. The opportunity to make use of the indoor space in conjunction with the open-air verandas has lured many meetings, social gatherings and weddings to this lakeside locale.


1421 Milwaukee Ave., Glenview

The Redfield Estate is a superb choice for both indoor and outdoor events. With two gazebos and spacious meadow surrounding the house, the spacious lawn is well- suited for large groups while indoors accommodates sit-down meals for up to 85 people or buffets serving larger groups of up to 125.

Located in Chicago’s bustling theatre district, the Gene Siskel Film Center is the loop’s contemporary alternative for special events. With two state-of-the-art movie theatres and a sunlight-filled Cafe/Gallery overlooking the city, the Gene Siskel Film Center provides a sophisticated yet comfortable setting for corporate events, luncheons, presentations, screenings, parties and private receptions.

The South Shore Cultural Center (formerly the South Shore Country Club) is cultural facility that has been recognized as a Chicago Landmark (2004). Those who built this fabulous facility understood that entertaining can be a fine art. The country club-like interior, grandiose ballrooms, cascading chandeliers, meeting rooms and stunning art gallery make hosting here exceptional. Most of the facility has been recently updated and renovated to restore the Cultural Center back to its original décor. Stage a small convention, honor employees or throw the party of a lifetime! She was designed and built as a party cruise boat. The carpeted main salon is fully enclosed and climate controlled. Her interior is elegantly understated offering a 360 degree view from mahogany trimmed windows. There is a large walk around bar aft that is always a favorite place for friends and associates to gather. Seating is cushioned and upholstered. The open-air upper deck is expansive with bench seating along both sides. Whether you envision your event to be elegantly understated or an extravagant affair, the “Summer of George” offers the flexibility to make your celebration truly unique.


344 E. Balbo Drive, Chicago

In 2008, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation awarded Parkways Foundation a $1.25 million grant for the transformation of Grant Park’s south rose garden into a formal garden and event space adjacent to Buckingham Fountain. Visitors to the garden, which was designed by Douglas Hoerr of Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architects, will process down a ceremonial promenade bordered by an abundance of colorful blooms, hanging vines and shaped evergreens. Visitors to the garden will be surrounded by nearly 12,000 plants, including 270 blooming trees and shrubs, 95 cascading vines, 3,000 spring bulbs and 7,600 annuals and perennials with white, soft pink, burgundy, purple and silver blossoms. The garden highlights views of the city’s most beloved treasures: Buckingham Fountain, Lake Michigan and the stunning view of Museum Campus.


5531 S Russell Drive, Chicago

The Chicago Park District’s elegant Washington Park Refectory is located at 5531 S. Russell Drive, just east of Martin Luther King Drive. The facility sits adjacent to the Aquatic Center, which houses a 36-foot waterslide plus a swimming pool with a patio and fountains. The Refectory has a rich history that is interwoven with Chicago’s architectural design legends. Daniel H. Burnham & Company designed and built the pool and Russell Drive in 1891, two years before the Columbia Exposition. The Refectory features ground level colonnades and four open-roof towers. The classically designed Refectory building and grounds offer two distinguished floors.


400 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago

With breathtaking views of Chicago’s skyline as a backdrop, Wendella features vessels that will transform your outing into a special event! The vessels are perfect for any event, from a private architecture tour to a corporate outing, cocktail party or wedding reception. The Wendella is the largest of the three and hosts up to 275 guests on two decks. Like the Wendella, the Ouilmette features a granite bar and boasts meticulously maintained wood and brass. The Ouilmette’s two decks can host an event up to 160 passengers. The completely redesigned Sunliner’s single deck offers the same attention to detail, in a more intimate setting, perfect for groups of 30-60.
