A day in the life of a MANAGER includes:

  • Provide exceptional guest service, thereby setting the standard for all employees.
  • Monitor staff performance and hold staff accountable for their performance, ensuring guest's experiences meet HCRG standards.
  • Manage daily operations including cleanliness, organization, revenue opportunities and staffing.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in staffing.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately identify critical information and make independent judgments in accordance with the philosophies and business practices of HCRG
  • Train, coach, and develop front-of-house employees through ongoing feedback and the establishment of performance expectations.
  • Manage supplies deliveries and inventory and maintain records of invoices.
  • Ensure safety and sanitation.
  • Ensure restaurant and bar is in complete compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Sous Chef

A day in the life of our HOST staff includes:

  • Providing guests with a warm and genuine greeting as they arrive

  • Making reservations over the phone or in person
  • Providing guests with an estimated waiting time, always maintaining a professional, courteous attitude
  • Completing carry-out orders over the phone or in person
  • Assisting guests with retail purchases
  • Maintenance of the host stand, lobby, and gift shop
  • Updating daily specials

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 1 year of high volume restaurant experience preferred
  • Excellent phone etiquette and verbal communication to communicate clearly and effectively with guests
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an outgoing manner
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays
  • The ability to stand for 6 to 10 hours at a time

Catering Intern

If selected, you will get to work with a variety of our staff on real projects. Applicants must be students eligible for internship credit who consider themselves proactive, enthusiastic about learning catering strategies, able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Our ideal candidate is someone who walks into a room of people and can’t leave without making a few friends.

What You Will Learn:

  • How to organize, coordinate and run large scale events such as charity fundraisers, promotional events, celebrity meet & greets.
  • How to read and write a BEO.
  • How to work with event sales program, Reserve.
  • How to create effective collateral for events; menu cards, buffet cards, door signs.
  • How to handle inquiries, leads and proposals.
  • The lifecycle of an event; booking, billing stages, payment.
  • How to plan a sales report.
  • How to proactively sell; corporate and social markets.
  • Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects.

What We Require:

  • Background in Hospitality, Event Planning, Public Relations or other related discipline.

We are seeking Winter 2017 marketing interns to assist the Marketing Department

HARRY CARAY'S RESTAURANT GROUP, one of the most nationally recognized restaurant groups in the country, is looking for a marketing interns to assist Marketing and PR team.  Applicants must be students eligible for internship credit who consider themselves proactive, enthusiastic about learning restaurant marketing strategies, able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must also be passionate about marketing and advertising.

Responsibilities include assisting with large and small scale marketing events, development and execution of marketing promotions, assisting with the design and implementation of promotional materials and ads, administrative tasks, and more.  This is a great way to get to know the local and national media and deal with various promotions.  Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Journalism majors/degrees preferred. Lunch provided. A stipend is awarded at the end of the internship. Three month internship. Must be available 15-20 hours a week.
